Media Mechanics Teams with NPR's World Cafe and The House of Blues Radio Hour to Produce Radio Documentaries to Support Valleys of NeptuneThis month, more than 500 radio stations across the U.S. and Canada aired twin radio docs produced by Media Mechanics celebrating the release of Jimi Hendrix' new album
Valleys of Neptune.
Released March 9, the album promptly raced to the #4 spot on the U.S. Album Sales Charts. Additionally, with the re-release of Hendrix' catalog, Jimi had no fewer than 5 albums in the Top 100 -- some 40 years after his passing.
Media Mechanics was engaged by Experience Hendrix to help promote the release, and teamed up with WXPN/Philadelphia's
World Cafe to produce and distribute a documentary hosted by David Dye. The program, featuring interviews with Janie Hendrix, producer Eddie Kramer, bandmate Billy Cox, and others was syndicated nationally by NPR.
Media Mechanics then enlisted the team of The House of Blues Radio Hour, starring Dan Aykroyd, to create a second radio special. The House of Blues Radio Hour is produced by Media Mechanics' Ben Manilla, and airs on more than 200 radio stations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Additional content, including interview clips widgets and more, was made available via Media Mechanics' owned and operated websites
